ITANAGAR, Sep 15:Irked over the delay in declaring the date of bye election of 12th Pakke Kessang Assembly Constituency, the Peoples Forum of 12th Pakke Kessang on Friday served a seven-day ultimatum to the state government to announce the date of bye poll, threatening to launch democratic movement otherwise.

The seat had fallen vacant after former deputy chief minister and the then sitting MLA, Kameng Dolo lost the membership of the State Assembly following a Supreme Court ruling in connection with an election petition filed against him by BJP leader and former minister Atum Welly.

Addressing media persons at press club, General Secretary, PFPKAC, Martin Brah informed that the delay in declaring the election date is creating law and order problem in few places and tension has gripped locals, resulting in huge conveniences among the general public.

Referring to a recent incident in which two brothers severely injured each other in connection with the same case, Brah while holding the government responsible has also demanded immediate relief for one of the victim, who sustained grievous injuries during the clash and currently admitted to the RKM Hospital.
