BHALUKPONG, Nov 27: The Boudh Viharas among others should be a center of peace and harmony where the rich Himalayan culture and traditions are preserved and promoted, said local MLA cum Parliamentary Secretary for PHED & WS Kumsi Sidisow after inaugurating the first Boudh Vihar at Bhalukpong this morning.
He also paid rich tributes to late Tsona Gontse Rimpoche who had helped him in engineering the concept of the Bhalukpong Boudh Vihar.
Unfolding his dream of constructing a Vihara at Thrizino; the cradle of Hrusso (Aka) civilization, Kumsi spoke at length on the need for compassion, tolerance and peaceful co-existence for the welfare of the sentient beings. It is much more needed in a state like ours where there are 25 major tribes with more than hundred sub-tribes, he added.
Earlier, President of the Bhalukpong Circle Buddhist Society (BCBS) Circle Officer Kesang Wangda highlighting the significance of the Vihara said that the location of the Vihara at the gateway of the three districts viz West Kameng, East Kameng and Tawang would usher in an era of renewed peace and tranquility in the region.
Various rituals and prayers were offered by the monks before the inauguration of the Vihara.
Among others, Bhalukpong EAC T Riba, CO K Rakhi, DFO, ZPM along with other PRI members, members of Hrusso (Aka) Elite Society and officials of the Bhalukpong Circle Buddhist Society attended the inauguration programme.
