TEZU, Aug 18: For the first time after several years, Tezu residents had the joyous experience of a full-fledged 3 days NBT Book Exhibition that went around the town and the educational institutions, from August 15 to 17, as a part of the 'Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav' in Lohit. The exhibition series was organised by the Lohit District Administration jointly with the Bamboosa Library, Tezu and the Forum of Activists of Lohit Youth Libraries and coordinated by EAC Tezu, Jally Umpo.
The exhibition was inaugurated by MLA, Tezu, Karikho Kri, in presence of DC Lohit Marge Sora and several HODs and public leaders, during the Independence Day celebrations at the Jubilee Ground Tezu. Going through the wide variety of books put up by NBT India and the Bamboosa Library, Tezu, Kri lauded the NBT officials for coming all the way from Kolkata and the members of the Forum of Activists for putting up a splendid collection of books for all age-groups.
The highlight of the NBT exhibition was several new titles on Corona and its impact on our life, popular science, history, Indian culture and Vedic mathematics. The Bamboosa exhibition covered books of Tulika, Chennai featuring a children’s biography on Gandhiji in 5 Arunachal languages and Bodo, Ektara Bhopal’s Hindi children’s books and colourful posters for ‘learning Hindi the fun way’ and youth motivational titles by Sri Ramakrishna Math, Chennai, Birds of India series by CEE Ahmedabad, apart from junior encyclopaedias and classics for students.
NBT Kolkata has offered to send their mobile book exhibition bus to reach out to more places in eastern Arunachal this coming winter.
