ITANAGAR, Sep 22: The student’s united movement of All Arunachal ("SUMAA) while extending condolence to the aggrieved family of late Apsana Talukdar, who died in a tragic road accident recently has asked the concern Horticulture Department to terminate the driver of the bus, Sunil Chaurasia immediately and compensate the victim families on moral grounds.
On September 18 last, Talukdar, 17, a student of Class XI (Humanities) of Government Higher Secondary School, Itanagar was killed on the spot and her friend seriously injured while on their way to school by a speeding bus.
Terming reckless driving of heavy vehicles a matter of serious concern in the state capital, the union also demanded the authority to give exemplary to the all such persons.
Disclosing that upon inquiry the condition of the bus was found to be old and dilapidated, it demanded an MVI team to initiate a probe into the motorable condition of the bus.
Further, the organization has announced a candle light peace march from Akashdeep to IG park tennis court in memory of the deceased on September 23 next.
