PASIGHAT, Aug 4: After weeklong search operations proved futile in tracing  the other two bodies of JNV students who had drowned in the confluence of Sikor and Siang river on July 26 last, the search operation jointly launched by Adi Mising Baane Kebang (AMBK) and Takam Mising Pirin Kebang (TMPK) on the Assam side today let to the recovery of a second dead body. The body has been identified to be of late Biky Pertin and was recovered from Majorbari ghat.

“After intensive search operations in Upper Siang, Siang and East Siang districts failed, we launched joint search operation of TMPK and AMBK today and we could recover the second dead body,” said Okom Yosung.  The search operation for the third dead body will also continue and we are very thankful to Mising brethrens for their brotherly cooperation, added Yosung. 

The team of TMPK led by President Noresh Kumbang, AMBK led by Secy. General Okom Yosung and other executive members like advocate Vijay Taram, Ungkung Regon, Muhim Pao, Apek Pertin, Jote Mingki and former Minister (MLA Dambuk) Roding Pertin including Adi Mising Students’ Coordination Committee President, Tushar Ao Ngatey and many other ground workers searched the locations like Bogibeel Ghat, Majorbari Ghat and 3 Mile Ghat in three groups.
