BOMDILA, Dec 15: The Bomdila police nabbed a group of bike lifters in the wee hours of Thursdayafter a hot pursuit some three kilometers from Bomdila Township on the way to Tawang.
As reports of theft cases were on the rise and based on an information, the police team consisting of ASI DT Kharma, NK P Dorjee, Ct. P Wangsu, Ct. D Moidam, Ct. T Norbu and half section of CRPF 138 BN, C-coy under the supervision of SI K Tsering, i/c OC PS Bomdila laid a surprise naka / picketing at the Balipara-Charduar-Tawang road in between Bomdila pass and Forest nursery at two in the morning on December 13 last.
The police team intercepted two motorcycles and a Scooty along with three riders. On being questioned, the riders managed to escape with the stolen bikes but following hot pursuit by the police and the CRPF jawans led to the surrender and submission by Palo Sangdo and Pape Sangdo.
However, the mastermind Tari Sangdo escaped taking advantage of the darkness.
A case, vide BDL PS C/NO. 38/17, 39/17 and 40/17 U/S 457/380/34 IPC has been registered and the apprehended persons kept under police custody to probe further their involvement in other theft cases, if any.
