ITANAGAR, Feb 10: The Arunachal Pradesh Private Schools and Children Welfare Association (APPS&CWA) said that every school should encourage 'vocal for local' by ensuring wearing of traditional attire once a week for the session 2022-23.
Addressing media persons at the press club on Thursday, APPS&CWA President Yowa Bullet said a general body meeting was held at Lekhi village on February 6 last , where representatives of more than 180 schools from the entire state were present.
He said, along with the mandatory wearing of traditional dress once a week, numerous resolutions were also adopted concerning the schools, staff and students.   
“All private schools will be following the same academic schedule. However, there will be exception for schools in districts with cold weather conditions,” he said adding that Non APST students shall too wear their respective traditional dress every Monday along with the rest.
Coaching centers running parallel to schools should be closed immediately. And teachers should obtain NOC prior to shifting to other schools. The association will pursue for closure of illegal schools running in the state, the President further said. 
 Chief Advisor, Tarh Hari said that the resolutions have been taken for the welfare of students, parents and staff and for uniform functioning of all private schools in the state.   
The association will take action on schools not abiding with the resolution, he said.
Replying to question on maintaining a uniform payscale for teachers, APPS&CWA President said the matter was discussed in the general body meeting, however no concrete conclusion could be arrived at.
