ITANAGAR, Aug 22:The RGU Contractor’s Welfare Association on Tuesday has extended full support to the demands being placed by Rajiv Gandhi University Students’ Union for open-tendering of university projects worth more than Rs 25 lakh.

In a release, the association also called for abolishing the system of awarding works as per the list provided by RGU Contractor’s Welfare Association and demanded the new system of  E-tendering be introduced.

Disclosing that the matter had been briefed to the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Chancellor RGU, Central Vigilance Commission etc, it said that response is awaited and urged all students’ bodies like AAPSU, ANSU and Students’ Union NERIST to stay united and fight against such corrupt practices.

Furthermore appreciating the demands, the association said it will go for a mass protest in support of university authorities and agitating student union to seek justice.
