YINGKIONG, Feb 26: 100 days 100 district campaign “Ashwasan” to break the chain of the spread of TB and COVID infections was launched at Yingkiong in Upper Siang district today by Deputy Commissioner Shashvat Saurabh, in presence of health officials and others.
During the interactive session, the Deputy Commissioner urged the participants to carry out the activities whole-heartedly to make the campaign successful and more meaningful. He desired that MOs/HWOs/ASHAs of respective areas extend necessary cooperation and stressed on the necessity to address other health issues to the villagers.
District Medical Officer Dr Moli Riba, instructed the DTO to prepare a micro-plan in collaboration with the team. He assured all possible cooperation from the department. 
Dr Ahik Miyu, DTO while briefing the participants on various aspects of Active Case Finding procedures stressed on the importance of establishing rapport with the families they visit. Dr Andeng Sitek, DRCHO, appealed to the team to look for unimmunized children and unregistered pregnant women, if any, in the households that they visit.     
Piramal Swasthya Management and Research Institute, through its Tribal Health Collaboration Programme called Anamaya will carry out TB Active Case Finding & Community Engagement activities in various villages of the district by collecting and transporting sputum samples from among the presumptive TB cases to the nearest Designated Microscopy Centre for early diagnosis and treatment. During the campaign they will also address the misconceptions regarding TB and Covid infection and vaccination hesitancy.
