ITANAGAR, May 31:The performance report card for CBSE Class 10 board examinations was rolled out on Wednesday, with the state cutting a dismal figure with only about 22.22% students recording a pass grade, a sharp dip from the pass percentage of 64 per cent in 2017.

A total of 18,489 students took the examination according to record obtained by this daily of which only 3924 managed to clear the exam.

Moreover in CBSE (AISSCE) Class XII examination, the pass percentage which stood at 44.33% was an improvement by 5.5% against last year’s result, however this figure is also not reassuring when we compare the results with other regions of the country. A total 11, 153 students appeared  in the CBSE Class –XII examination  for the session 2017-18 but  only 4,944 students managed to clear the examination .

This year too in class XII examination, girl students outshone boys in overall performance and also in individual performance.

Districts -wise, Sangram ranked first with 92.6 pass percentage. Nyapin and Nafra stood at 2nd and 3rd place with 90.91 and 78.57 pass percentage respectively this year.

A total of three girl students all from Pasighat topped the Class 12 exams (science stream) this year with a score of 95.4%, 94.4, and 92.8%. The toppers include – Ayia Borang from IGJ Pasighat followed by Priyankar Roy- GHSS, DEM and Pooja Kumari, GHSS,IGJ.

When talking about institute wise performance, the report card is very alarming as top government schools—Chowkham, Higher secondary school which stood at first place in the list only has a 44. 44% pass percentage and lowest recorded Tato, Higher secondary School with only 3.23%.

While private schools both independent unaided including institutions run by NGOs such as RK Missions, VKVs, JNVs, Kendriya Vidyalaya recorded  more than 95% overall pass percentage. Other private schools such Donyi Polo Vidaya Bhawan, King Cup etc also gave commendable performance.
