ITANAGAR, Nov 9:A team of officials from Tourism Department led by Parliamentary Secretary (Tourism& Civil Aviation) PD Sona attended the annual World Tourism Market (WTM) held in London from November 6 to 8 last.
The main objective of participating in the WTM was to sell and promote the rich tourism potential of the state before travellers and tourism stakeholders of the world. Many adventure lovers and people fond of travelling enquired about the tribal culture, flora & fauna and entry formalities to enter the state.
International news channels like CNBC, Washington Post, SKY channel took the interview of Sona on tourism potentials of the state. The event is supported by Ministry of Tourism, Government of India to showcase the tourism potential of the state in the incredible India pavilion.
Secretary Tourism, Govt. of India and Secretary, Doner also visited the Arunachal stall.
WTM is a leading annual global event for the travel industry being participated by more than 180 countries worldwide. It provides a platform for the whole global travel trade to meet, network, negotiate and explore opportunity in tourism sector. With the increasing interest among global travellers about Arunachal Pradesh, the department of tourism is expecting an increase in international tourist footfall.
