ITANAGAR, Aug 7:On the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, school children from VKV and Abotani Vidya Niketan, including members of Brahmakumaris and BJP Mahila Morcha tied ‘rakhi’ on the wrist of Chief Minister Pema Khandu.

The school children came in queues to tie rakhi and offered flowers and sweets to the Chief Minister.

The Chief Minister overwhelmed with the love and affection gifted the children with gift and sweet packets.

The Chief Minister in his interaction with school children advised them to preserve and respect the ancient culture and tradition. He asked them never to give up their tribal dialect, customs and tradition in the face of modernity.

The Chief Minister blessed the children and conveyed his best wishes to everyone on the occasion. 

The State BJP, Mahila Morcha led by President Bengia Yayang Tadar tied rakhi along with her team to the Chief Minister Pema Khandu and exchanged greetings. Later the team reached the state BJP office and tied rakhi to state vice president adv. Dominic Tadar and other state office bearers and Mahila Morcha heads.

The state BJP leaders extended greetings to the people of Arunachal and appealed for peace and prosperity and pledged to work for the protection of women in the state.

The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) Lohit District Unit celebrated Raksha Bandhan with the personnel of the 9th Battalion Indo Tibetan Border Police Lohitpur in Tezu today.

State Secretary Jacup Lukham, Zonal Organising Secretary, Malyadri including 65 karyakartas participated with zeal in the festivities.
