PASIGHAT, Jan 21: A Veterans Rally for Veterans, Veer Naris and families of martyred soldiers was held at Likabali Military Station today.

 Speaking on the occasion, Shaurya Chakra, Officiating General Officer Commanding, Spearhead Division, Brigadier Ajay Pasbola praised and acknowledged the sacrifices made by the defence veterans over the years towards safeguarding the nation. He informed the Veterans, Veer Naris and Widows about the efforts being made by Indian Army for their welfare and betterment.

During the interaction with the defence veterans, the GOC assured them of all possible assistance to address their pension related and other grievances related to resettlement, financial upliftment and healthcare.

Families of martyred soldiers and gallantry award winners were also felicitated by the Chief Guest during the function. All veterans were registered in the Veterans Grievance Portal on arrival. Quality medical and dental checkup were also carried out during the Rally. The rally was organized with the sole intent to educate Veterans, Veer Naris and Widows on the initiatives by the Government to resolve their day-to-day grievances/problems.

One of the major highlights of the event was interaction of the veterans with representatives from Defence Pension Office (Pension) Allahabad, Army Welfare Placement Node, Aadhaar Card Camp, Defence Recruitment Office (ARO Jorhat), Officer of State Bank of India, Punjab National Bank and Assam Gramin Vikas Bank which assisted in addressing most of their grievances and queries, said a press release from the Army.
