ITANAGAR, Feb 1:

In a bid to boost its organizational structure in the state, the Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) on Thursday appointed Geli Ete as the new president of Arunachal Pradesh Youth Congress (APYC) in a formal swearing in function held at the party’s official headquarters.

Neelam Tani, Giogi Ganga, Niglar Veo and Kipa Takum took oath as vice presidents while Pane Arjun and Kley Rijiju have been appointed as Spokespersons. Twelve members have been also appointed as general secretaries in the organization.

Congratulating the new APYC chief, (APCC) president Takam Sanjay disclosed that the new members have been assigned various responsibilities in the organization considering the service they have rendered for the party in the past year or on the basis of seniority.

Taking a jibe at the ruling BJP party, Sanjay accused the BJP government of allegedly pocketing Congress candidates using state’s development funds.

Talking on the massive merger of Congress leaders at Yachuli on Wednesday, he observed that the recent departure would not affect the party’s prospect and hoped that the new appointments will boost the morale of youth wing members.

“Those who joined BJP government failed to follow the ideology of the party,” said the APCC chief while affirming to bounce back with full tempo to dethrone BJP in 2019.

“After merger of Congress MLAs which led to forming of BJP in the state, we are working round the clock to unite every Congress worker to put up a stiff fight in the next assembly election against BJP,” said Sanjay.  He also said that party is preparing to fight against corruption in the state.

(IYC) General Secretary I/C Arunachal Pradesh Indrani Mishra, IYC Secretary I/C Arunachal Pradesh Sarifa Akhtara, former Chief Minister Nabam Tuki, former APCC President Padi Richo, APYC President Geli Ete, DCC President North Lakhimpur JP Das also addressed the function.
