ITANAGAR, May 31:Claiming that the Pema Khandu government has failed on various parameters and has been reduced to a laughing stock, Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee has demanded for immediate imposition of President’s Rule in the state.

Scoffing at Khandu’s statement at Geku in Upper Siang District where he said that the BJP will win all 60 seats in the next Assembly Election 2019, APCC said ‘Khandu himself is well aware of the fact that his government will not last till the 2019 Assembly Election. He should first make a safe win for himself in his Jang-Mukto Assembly Constituency.’

The Congress also alleged that the Secretary, PR & Special Secretary PR are issuing notifications separately which contradict each other’s notifications regarding dissolution of Panchayati Raj Power in the State. People in the State are confused which one is correct and which one has to be adhered to, it said in a release.

It further questioned the cancellation of both Municipal and Panchayat Elections in the State. The last Panchayat & Municipal elections 2013 were conducted smoothly even in far-flung and border area villages without any disruption due to monsoon, the Congress statement read.

The APCC also said that there is no execution of works and no sign of activities under untied fund of 221 crores allotted in the State to various Departments and has strongly opposed release of fund without execution of works in a memorandum submitted to Governor of Arunachal Pradesh. It further raised concern over deteriorating law and order in particular rise in atrocities against women.
