ITANAGAR, Dec 4:  After the Nyishi Elite Society, now its youth body ‘All Nyishi Youth Association’ (ANYA) has condemned the derogatory remark made by Chief Minister Pema Khandu in the State Assembly and sought his resignation within next seven days failing which it has threatened to call a capital bandh.

Addressing media persons at press club today, President ANYA Biri Kakum said ‘We support the demands made by the apex body of the Nyishi community NES. Chief Minister Khandu has meted step motherly treatment to one of the largest communities of the state. Moreover we strongly condemn the derogatory remarks made by the CM against one of our community leader.’

‘We are of the opinion  that the post of Chief Minister is a highly dignified post and the person holding the post should be responsible enough without any discrimination and must maintain his conduct inside or outside the state assembly irrespective of Party system.

The way CM has conducted himself while replying to the speech of Nyishi MLA was distasteful and offensive which has triggered the sentiments of the community and exposed his despotic character in governance which is unwarranted in a democratic setup,’ stated Kakum.

When asked about Nyishi legislators supporting Khandu government on the whole issue, Kakum replied that Khandu is playing divide and rule policy. ‘Khandu is incompetent and unfit, so I will request all Nyishi legislators to withdraw their support from the Khandu government,’ he said.

While responding to the query for taking-up the issue of alleged derogatory remark lately, ANYA clarified that the apex body NES was taking up the issue and now they are supporting their cause.
