NEW DELHI, Nov 6: Delhi’s most talked about North East Festival which promotes tourism, talents and culture of NE region of India ended on Sunday. More than two lakh people attended the festival - a mix of people from Delhi-NCR, NE communities and foreigners.

North East Festival’s Brand Ambassador and an icon from NE, Anshu Jamsenpa attended the tourism B2B meet and invited people to visit North East as the region is ready for tourists with improved infrastructure and better connectivity. Anshu also walked the ramp as a celebrity show stopper to promote NE fashion too.

On the second day of North East Festival, Anshu was felicitated by Dr Jitendra Singh, Minister for Development for North East Region in a glittering function held in Indira Gandhi National Centre for Arts, New Delhi.

The Minister said that Anshu has made India and North East Sates proud by summiting Mt Everest twice in 5 days and that she has become a big inspiration for scores of mountaineers spread across India and abroad.

Ram Muivah Secretary NEC while congratulating Anshu stated that NEC had funded part of her expedition cost and would be happy to extend further support in her future expeditions also.

Chief Organiser of  North East Festival SK Mahanta stated that this year’s main focus was Tourism and Anshu being a Brand Ambassador, has giving a loud and clear message to the masses to visit and explore the exotic North East India.

Arunachal Tourism Parliamentary Secretary P D Sona, Arunachal Mountaineering & Adventure Sports Association President Tsering Wange also attended the North East Festival.
