ROING, Apr 5:Inspired by women everesters of the state, Muri Linggi a mother of four is also on a mission to summit the world highest peak. The expedition was flagged off in a simple ceremony at the DC’s conference hall, Roing by MP (Rajya Sabha) Mukut Mithi, and ADC Cheshta Yadav (IAS) in the presence of Everester Tine Mena, DSO R. Mipi and well wishers.

ADC Cheshta Yadav, while flagging off the expedition, thanked all those who had contributed funds for the expedition and hoped that it would be a successful one. 

DSO R. Mipi stated that an amount of ₹ 25 lakhs was required for the expedition and that with the department of Sports and Youth Affairs contributing ₹ 10 lakhs, NHPC ₹ 1 lakh, Maducon Pvt. Ltd ₹ 1 lakh  and with contributions from well wishers, the amount collected so far was approximately ₹ 21 lakhs only. He thanked all for coming forward and encouraging the youth and those interested in pursuing their dreams.

Everester Tine Mena showed her support for Muri Linggi by encouraging her and telling her not to lose hope. She said that small hurdles and difficulties might pull one down, but one should keep trying and aim for success, whatever may be the outcome.

Muri Linggi, who works as a Peon in the Education department, says that she was inspired by Tine Mena and wants to summit Mount Everest. She completed her basic course in mountaineering from National Institute of Mountaineering and Allied Sports ( NIMAS), Dirang in 2013 and was a part of the women expedition team to climb Peak Menthosa in Lahaul and Spiti, Himachal Pradesh. Muri completed her advance mountaineering course from Darjeeling in 2016 and climbed the Gorichen Peak in October 2017. Now leaving her husband and 4 children at home, she is all set to conquer her dreams and Mount Everest
