PASIGHAT, Sep 20: While endorsing for Plastic-free East Siang and regular Cleanliness & Plantation drive, Deputy Commissioner, Tamiyo Tatak said upcoming generation especially Students community have a major role in spreading the message of cleanliness in the community.

He exhorted them to contribute in the initiative for “No Plastic ‘’movement in East Siang and make the ongoing Swachhta Hi Seva , a grand success .

The DC was addressing the students of Kendriya Vidyalaya ,Pasighat  at the launch of the  cleanliness and plantation drive in the school campus today, where he also paid tribute to the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi.

 The District Administration has declared East Siang as “No Plastic Zone” on the launch of the Swacchta Hi Seva campaign under the Clean India Mission (SBA).

On the occasion, a mass cleanliness  drive was also organized  jointly  by East Siang District, Kendriya Vidyalaya, 186 BN CRPF, 5 IRBN,CHF, PMC which was  joined by citizens who later planted tree saplings in different locations.

Chief Councillor, PMC, Kaling Doruk, Medical Superintendent , BK General Hospital, Pasighat, Dr. Yater Ringu Darrang,  Deputy Commandant 186 Bn CRPF, Vasudev among others also participated.
