ITANAGAR, Sep 12:Following complaints of high prices of commodities, Deputy Commissioner, Itanagar Capital Complex, Prince Dhawan  alongwith Secretary Agriculture YW Ringu, Secretary Horticulture Mimum Tayeng and other officials visited the weekly Gohpur market today to a get first-hand information.

Stressing on proper regulation of prices, the DC said ‘No vendor should try to sell products above the fixed rates and if anyone is doing so, proper action would be taken against that person.’

The team also directly interacted with the vendors to enquire about the prices of the items. The DC then informed that a uniform rate for the items would be circulated at the earliest after necessary discussion with all the stakeholders.  

In order to streamline the functioning of the market, the DC asked the CO Naharlagun, Moyir Kato to make a proper plan and lay out.

The DC also stressed that regular cleaning activities should be carried out and asked the Members Secretary APMC (Agriculture Produce Market Community) Okit Palling to ensure the same.  

Continuing with the spirit of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, the DC also informed that cleaning activities would be carried out in every nook and corner of the Capital Complex from September 15 onwards and directed the Member Secretary to put up a detailed proposal for the same.

Secretary Horticulture suggested that horticultural products may also be sold along with the agricultural products and asked the DC to include the same in the proposal.
