ITANAGAR, Oct 22:The All Arunachal Pradesh Students’ Union (AAPSU) has welcomed the resolution adopted by the Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly in its recently concluded Session against granting of citizenship to Chakma and Hajong refugees residing in the State of Arunachal Pradesh.

The state government as assured in the floor of the house should expedite the process of facilitating platforms for massive consultation in respect of implementing Tibetan Refugees Policy (TRP) to do away all confusions, the Union said in a press statement.

The AAPSU, as reaffirmed in the Golden Jubilee Celebration shall leave no stone unturned in protesting against the granting of citizenship to the Refugees. Rigorous movement to protect the constitutional right of indigenous people of the state shall be launched soon, it added.

Meanwhile the AAPSU has appreciated groups, individuals, delegates, District Students’ Unions and all wish wishers who contributed to the success of the AAPSU Golden Jubilee Celebration “Commemorating 50 years of AAPSU Constitution”. The team also congratulated all the participants and the winners of the literary events, games and sports events, Miss AAPSU contest and cultural events.
