ITANAGAR, Oct 25: The All Arunachal Pradesh Students’ Union (AAPSU) has welcomed the State Cabinet decision for the creation of 1309 teaching and non teaching posts under the Education Department terming it as path breaking and monumental decision that will help revamp the dismal education sector of the state.

‘The Cabinet approval shall give new impetus to accelerate the administrative set up and at the same time will fill up the void of subject teachers and non teaching staff across the state and we look forward that the historic decision is implemented in true letter & spirit without remaining in paper only,’ opined AAPSU General Secretary, Tobom Dai.  

Informing that it was one among the important points in its Charter of demand that was submitted to state government that is finally taking shape, AAPSU President, Hawa Bagang informed that and the Union is overwhelmed by the government decision. However at the same time, he called upon the State government to look into one of the important aspect of education, the Department of Library that has been overlooked and neglected by subsequent state governments and to bring about total overhaul in the Library Department as well.

 Bagang also expressed gratefulness to the Central Government for appointing a regular Governor and also for the appointment of a regular Director of National Institute of Technology (NIT), Jote, Itanagar and is also hopeful that the union’s demand for Regular Director of NERIST shall materialise soon.
