ITANAGAR, Nov 7:The All Arunachal Pradesh Students’ Union (AAPSU) delegation led by its President Hawa Bagang and General Secretary Tobom Dai made a courtesy call on the Governor BD Mishra at Raj Bhawan today.

The team apprised the Governor on the socio-political, education and health issues of the State. Reiterating its stand on the granting of citizenship Rights to Chakmas and Hajongs Refugees and Tibetan Rehabilitation Policy in Arunachal Pradesh, the union also expressed concern on the Centre’s indifference towards the indigenous people.

Also referring to the Naga peace talks, the union asserted that it will not accept any decision that is detrimental to the territorial integrity of the state.

The AAPSU also discussed the developments and confrontations at Rajiv Gandhi University, Doimukh, issues of the North East Regional Institute of Technology (NERIST) Nirjuli and National Institute of Technology, Jote. The team also briefed the Governor about the educational and health survey underway by District Students’ Union and regarding textbook supply.

While reacting to the issues raised by SSA teachers’ Association, AAPSU appealed the government to look into the grievances to improve education in the State.
