AALO, Jan 28: A massive plantation drive titled ‘green walk’
organised by the Aalo Forest Division and participated by Head of Offices was
carried out on Saturday. The plantation work started from Government Higher Secondary School and Deputy Commissioner and HoDs walked the Aalo streets along up to 2nd AAP headquarters planting rich varieties of
ornamental plants all along the road.
Expressing her views as the chief guest, the Deputy Commissioner, West Siang Swetika Sachan said the initiative is a good step towards the aesthetics of the town and will
go a long way to improve its urban landscape.
She also stressed on the need for such cooperation among different departments to achieve better goals in future.
Divisional Forest Officer Aalo, Abhinav Kumar disclosed that the campaign will be an annual event to include avenue plantation in the urban centres of the district by involving all
stakeholders and expressed gratitude for the cooperation from all.
Saplings will be protected and officials would be deputed to see they grow into trees, said the DFO.
The road from Nehru Chowk to ITBP
headquarters is one of the arterial roads of the town and this event is a good step towards beautification of Aalo town.
