SEPPA, Oct 3: The Women Welfare Organisation (WWO) East Kameng celebrated the 72^nd birth anniversary of the first woman legislator of the state, Nyari Welly, in a function here on Monday.

As part of the celebration, meritorious girls and women from the field of academics, sports, and social work were felicitated.

Earlier, WWO president Veena S Waii narrated the life story and achievements of Nyari Welly, and exhorted the people, especially the womenfolk, to work together to complete the work left behind by the late leader. 
   Among others, East Kameng Social Welfare and Cultural Organisation chairman Khya Safar Pao, RWD executive engineer Pai Dawe, and East Kameng deputy commissioner Rajeev Takuk attended the function
