ITANAGAR, Jan 5:
 
A regional food festival is underway at Nyokum Lapang ground, presenting a variety of locally prepared traditional cuisines and dishes, which was inaugurated today by Vice president, BJP, Dominic Tadar amidst a huge gathering. 
The six-day event is being organized by All Arunachal Pradesh Orphan Students Welfare Association (AAPOSWA).
 
In his address, Tadar while boosting the morale of the orphan students assured to give all possible support and help to them through the present government.
Highlighting various initiatives of the present BJP government, he urged them to avail benefits of Deen Dayal Upadhyay Swavalamban Yojana (DDUSY) which aims to encourage unemployed youth for entrepreneurship through formal banking channels.
He said that under the scheme every beneficiary would be provided bank loans upto10 lakhs with minimum interest.
The association also submitted a memorandum to Tadar for construction of building for an orphanage and old age home.
