ITANAGAR, Sep 15:The 50th Engineers’ Day was celebrated by members of Engineering fraternity today at Nirman Bhawan, Itanagar. The event organised by Arunachal Pradesh Engineering Service Association (APESA) was attended by Engineers from various work departments.

Addressing the Engineers on the day as Chief Guest, Parliamentary Secretary (PWD, UD, Municipal Affairs), Techi Kaso advised the Engineering community to work hard and continue to do good job for expeditious development of the state. He also dwelt upon discharging responsibility with utmost sincerity in an atmosphere free from corruption.

The function began with lighting of ceremonial lamp and floral tribute to Bharat Ratna Late M. Visvesvaraya to commemorate his birthday.

The event also witnessed Power point presentation on Life & Achievement of Father of Indian Engineering Late M. Visvesvaraya by Atop Lego, Chief Engineer, SID&P, PWD. The theme of the 50th Engineers’ Day has been coined as “Role of Engineers in a Developing India”.

The Secretary General, APESA, Bini Pelen submitted a memorandum to the Chief Guest on issues pertaining to Engineering fraternity. Kaso assured  for early consideration of their grievances.

President, APESA, S Sumnyan also spoke on the occasion.

The Rajiv Gandhi University today joined the rest of the nation in celebrating the Golden Jubilee Engineer’s Day.

The event also marked prize distributions to the winners of essay and logo design competition which was followed by a tree plantation.
