ITANAGAR, AUG 19: 

In a novel way to boost state tourism to the world outside, the Director, North East Postal Services (HQ), NE Circle,  Som Kamei  on Saturday formally released  21 special postcards on Arunachal Pradesh,  portraying the state’s best tourist destinations,  rich culture and customs of indigenous people in a small function held today at the head office postal department, Bank Tinali, Itanagar. 

"The department of post's endeavour is to highlight all aspects of tourism in the state through this special post card," he said while unveiling the postcards amidst staffers and media persons. 

Mentioning that the effort has proved helpful in few northeastern states, Kamei said that the initiative was taken up jointly by department of post with state tourism department to make this landlocked state more alluring to tourists. 

‘These postcards will be made available in all branches of post offices and each postcard will cost less than 5 rupees and one can buy pack of these 21 postcards investing only  rupees 105,’ he disclosed.
