PASIGHAT, Oct 4:  The 16th edition of Late Odam Ering Memorial Football Tournament was kicked off at JN College playground here on Tuesday in which total of 17 teams are participating to win the most prestigious and oldest running trophy in Pasighat.

Gracing as Chief Guest, Tajing Taki, ZPM Sille-Oyan who is also a former General Secretary of District Football Association (DFA) advised the young players to maintain sportsmanship spirit.

He also reminded the players about government’s quota for sportsperson and suggested them to build their career through sports also. Among others, DFA President, General Jamoh, Gen. Secy. Tayon Dai, DSO Nada Apa, SE PWD Boleng Circle, Er. T. Darang, Medical Superintendent, Dr. YR Darang, Obiyak Ering etc also witnessed the inaugural match.

The inaugural match was played between Down Town FC and Rani FC where both ended with 1-1 draw till the completion of the normal and extended extra time leading to a tie-breaker in which Rani FC defeated defending champion Down Town by 4-2. 

While in today’s two matches, MBFC defeated LMB by 6-5 and TLSC outscored Mebo FC by 4-3 both in a tie-breaker.
