ZIRO, Aug 13: Minister Agriculture, Er. Tage Taki and Balo Raja, MLA & Advisor to Home Minister jointly launched the online payment service for post paid electricity bills for consumers of Ziro electrical division from DC Conference Hall, Hapoli today.
With the launch of this service consumers will no longer have to flock the bill counters to pay electricity bills.
Lauding the efforts of the Power department Er . Tage Taki said "The launch of the online bill payment system is an important achievement by an investment department and will go a long way in plugging revenue losses. The reported 40-50% commercial loss on electricity consumption will be drastically reduced with the use of this service.”
Highlighting more on the online payment system Er. Joram Lali, Executive Engineer (E) and Nodal Officer R-APDRP informed that the Consumers can pay their bills online through the department web portal (www.arpdop.gov.in), Department's Mobile APP (ARUNACHAL POWER PAY) and other payment Apps. Major payment Apps enabled under Bharat Bill Pay Ecosystem like google pay, paytm, phonepe, amazon, bhim upi, mobikwik, payzapp, mi pay, airtel payment bank, true caller have been enabled for online payment, he informed.
Consumers can avail the services by dialing helpline number/customer care number “1912” for any matters related to power supply, electricity bills, meter readings, billings, etc. The customer care centre (contact centre/call centre) has been made operational since June 2020 for electricity consumers of 8 R-APDRP towns namely Itanagar, Naharlagun, Pasighat, Roing, Tezu , Namsai, Ziro and Hapoli.
Besides the customer care services; Sms services have also been activated both for post paid and prepaid consumers.
Bar Takum, CE (P), WEZ-cum-SNO R-APDRP called for intensive awareness of the newly launched service amongst the common public. He suggested for roping in the ZPMs and the PRI members to create awareness at the grassroots level.
