Call to turn innovation into enterprise
ITANAGAR, Aug 5: Arunachal Pradesh State Council for Science & Technology under Dept. of Science & Technology felicitated young innovator Tadar Anang and regional coordinator and scientist of National Innovation Foundation (NIF) India, Dr Nitin Maurya on Saturday.
Both are winners of Pandit Deeenanath Award 2016 and Dr. A.P. J Abdul Kalam IGNITE Award 2017.
Maurya represented India in the 3rd BRICS Young Scientist Conclave 2018, held at Durban in South Africa.
A.P. State Council for Science and Technology Chairman Bamang Mangha, who was the chief guest, said that Tadar Anang should be an inspiration and example for other young children of the state. Everyone has hidden talent and ideas which need to be inculcated into reality.
Secretary Science & Technology, Er. Gaken Ete in his address stressed on building an ecosystem for converting innovation into enterprises. He demanded promotion of cutting-edge technologies alongside grassroots innovations, so that a pipeline for future can be generated. He said that North East region is a treasure trove of innovation with a wide area of indigenous knowledge system, medicinal plants, water harvesting, agriculture practices, etc. Only thing needed is adding technology to these innovations and convert them into industrial products for national and global market.
Director cum Member Secretary, AP State Council for Science & Technology C.D. Mungyak appreciated the efforts of NIF to promote innovation in the state and told that innovation is a key factor for growth and sustainable development.
Joint Director Dr. Debajit Mahanta explained the steps taken up by the State Council for Science &Technology to promote innovation in the state.
Making his presentation, Anang urged the student community that success cannot be achieved in a day. It requires continuous effort and testing.
He urged upon the students to work hard and become professionals and serve the family, community and state and country.
Resource person NIF scientist Dr Nitin Maurya during his introductory speech explained about the different platforms for promoting innovation from both formal and informal sectors.
