ITANAGAR, Aug 27: The Directorate of Youth Affairs, Arunachal Pradesh in collaboration with Arunachal Cycling Association organized a two-day workshop on Mountain Terrain Biking which began today.
Bamang Tago, Chairman, Sports Authority of Arunachal, highlighted the benefits of cycling and conservation of the environment through cycling.
Four resource persons from Guwahati are conducting the workshop cum training for the first time in Arunachal Pradesh to promote cycling in the State as Arunachal Pradesh is bestowed with huge potential for MTB cycling.
A mass ride programme will also be conducted on Tuesday starting from SLSA ground and covering Jullang, Naharlagun, Shiv Mandir, Ganga and back to SALA Chimpu to promote the cycling culture in the State.
The biggest and hardest National level MTB competition, the 2nd edition of “MTB Tawang Challenge” organized by the Directorate of Youth Affairs & Arunachal Cycling Association will also commence from October 22 next to coincide with Tawang Festival.
