AALO, May 17:

 

In order to make West Siang district prepared for the ensuing monsoon season, the district disaster management meeting was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner West Siang, Gamli Padu on Tuesday last. 
 

Padu stressed on administrative preparedness on any monsoon related unforeseen disasters at district, subdivision and circles level and insisted on disaster management response plan and departmental contingency plans by all line departments. He asked the DDMO to provide essential format for comprehensive disaster plan on flood damage, FDR scheme, inventory of resources, emergency disaster 
cell to all line departments and ensure submission of plans in time. He also insisted on stocking of sufficient medicines and buffer stock of essential commodities by Medical and Civil Supply Department at headquarters and different administrative outposts.


DDMO Nima Dorjee, highlighted in detail on incident response system, incident response team, damages caused by last monsoon and mock drill conducted in the past as part of disaster preparedness in the district in the past. The representative from Army, ITBP, Police, BSNL and HoDs of line departments were present in the meeting to give their suggestions and raise their problems.
