AALO, Jun 9:Altogether 60 weavers, out of 600 beneficiaries were distributed free cotton yarn in the inaugural function day of Chief Minister Flagship Programme of Indigenous Textile Promotion (CMITP) scheme for the session 2016-17, which was organized at the Conference Hall of Craft Center, Aalo on Friday.

The programme was formally inaugurated by Zilla Chairperson, Yaman Bagra who attended as the Chief Guest in presence of DDI, DFDO, CO etc.

Addressing the gathering, Bagra spoke in length on the importance of such flagship programmes organized specially for womenfolk and highlighted many new and existing schemes launched by both the State and Central Government in the country.

She appealed all the women to take maximum advantages and benefits from such schemes and exhorted every weaver to utilize the yarns distributed to them free of cost to make maximum profit.

DDI, Aalo, stressed on the quality production of handloom and textile commodities. He asked the weavers and artisans to produce traditional commodities by strictly maintaining the trends and style of indigenous people.

The ADTH, Aalo Teresa Padu disclosed that the Yarns have also been sent for distribution through respective Panchayat leaders in the interior areas of the district under the programme.
