PASIGHAT, Jun 18:  Stepping up its continuous crusade against illegal sale of IMFL and other illicit substance in the district, Women Against Social Evils (WASE) in coordination with Mebo Police raided several grocery and Paan Gumtis at Ngopok, Kiyit and Borguli village under Mebo Sub-Division today and seized a total of 1282 IMFL bottles and FIR was also lodged against the erring shops. The team also raised objection over illegal sale of Petrol and Diesel in most village grocery shops.

Meanwhile, WASE has strongly appealed the District Administration to conduct a departmental enquiry to find out who are illegally selling IMFL and fuel to these village grocery shops.  Owing to such open sale of IMFL even in the far off villages, the team WASE led by President Omem Ering had submitted a memorandum to Chief Minister, Pema Khandu during his recent Pasighat visit and has reiterated its strong opposition against installation of IMFL distillery unit at Industrial Growth Centre, Niglok.
