ITANAGAR, Aug 29: The All Arunachal Vocational Education Teachers’ Association (AAVETA) today served a 20-day ultimatum to the state government to fulfil their two point charter of demands failing which the union threatened to resort to democratic movement.
AAVETA is demanding regularisation of all teachers at one go, implementation of 22 per cent salary increment and 3 per cent allowance of Departmental Expenditure as assured by the state government.
Addressing mediapersons here at the Press Club, President AAVETA, Boria Pangu said that since their appointment in the year 2015, vocational teachers are being deprived of basic allowance. “Teachers working under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) and Rastriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) are getting 22 percent salary increment and also job regularisation is going on in phase manner but we are being neglected,” he said.
Moreover, the education department is yet to prepare Recruitment Rule (RR) for vocational teachers, he added.
“Neighbouring state Assam has already regularized 110 Vocational Teachers. But as of now 276 vocational teachers working in 99 government higher secondary schools across Arunachal are still deprived of their basic rights,” the AAVETA president claimed.
