DAPORIJO, Oct 14 : In a major push toward agricultural modernisation, a high-level coordination meeting was chaired by Assistant Commissioner, Goju Sikom Incharge Deputy Commissioner today at the Mini Secretariat, Daporijo. Organized by the District Administration, the session focused on aggressively scaling up the digital farmer registration drive under the centrally sponsored AgriStack framework across Upper Subansiri district.
The meeting saw active participation and coordination from the District Agriculture Officer Singdhe Hangu, who served as the Member Secretary cum Convenor of the program. Representatives and technical experts from various line departments comprising the district's AgriStack Task Force, alongside key local self-government leaders, including the Zilla Parishad Chairperson (ZPC) and Zilla Parishad Members (ZPMs) of Upper Subansiri, attended the strategy session to finalise the deployment map for the grassroots enumeration.
To ensure seamless execution, the meeting featured an intensive technical orientation conducted by resource persons from IT Solution, Itanagar. The IT team provided comprehensive hands-on training on data synchronization, portal navigation, and troubleshooting digital anomalies during field verification.
Addressing the house, Sikom emphasised the critical importance of strict timelines and inter-departmental synergy to achieve 100% saturation. He noted that the initiative aligns with the state-wide rollout highlighted by state Agriculture Minister Gabriel D. Wangsu, marking a paradigm shift in creating a robust agricultural information system across Arunachal Pradesh. By building the digital database, the administration intends to precisely track who the farmers are, what crops they cultivate, and where their land holdings are situated to ensure seamless, leak-proof assistance.
In his technical brief, the DAO explained that under this digital framework, every registered farmer in Upper Subansiri will be issued a unique, digitally verifiable Farmer ID. This dynamic ID will serve as a single window of identity across multiple government departments, simplifying eligibility authentication for subsidies, inputs, credit, and crop insurance. The Task Force officials at the Mini Secretariat explicitly clarified to the public that this database is strictly an identification and service-delivery tool and does not establish or alter legal land ownership claims.
The successful implementation of AgriStack is expected to provide a substantial economic boost to Upper Subansiri. Integrating verified digital profiles will strengthen the positioning of local agricultural initiatives, such as the recently initiated Geographical Indication (GI) application process for the famous 'Orange of Upper Subansiri', driven by local Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs). A verified database will seamlessly connect these specialized local growers to regional and national digital markets, eliminating middlemen and ensuring optimal pricing.
The AgriStack Task Force has urged all farming households to cooperate with field surveyors and visit their nearest Common Service Centres (CSCs) or designated circle-level camps to complete their registrations at the earliest.
