ITANAGAR, Mar 14: Concerned over inordinate delay in declaring the names of contractors for proposed flood control works sanctioned under SADA (State Annual Development Agenda) meant for flood prone zone Pakke –Kessang in East Kameng District, the All Arunachal Pradesh Anti Corruption Students Union has alleged irregularities in the tender awarding process.

In a complain letter addressed to Minister, water resources & development, the union stated that during the bidding concern authority had followed the manual tender process as per NIT under CPWD norms, which was participated by many contractors/Proprietor etc.

However, the union alleged that after completion, no information as well as notice declaring the selection of contractors was made public till date resulting in confusion among the public of the area.

It informed, Pakke Kesang Constituency being a high flood risk zone especially during summer season gets severely affected by soil erosion due to high tides of nearby rivers and needs immediate attention of flood protection management to tackle flood risk.

Further while thanking the concern Minister for favouring the area by sanctioning developmental packages for flood control, the union sought immediate action on the issue, so that construction works can be carried out before arrival of monsoon.
