JAIRAMPUR, Apr 3: After over three months of captivity, the two kidnapped employees of the Quippo Oil and Gas Infrastructure Limited were released today by the ULFA (I) . However, till the filing of this report only one employee Pranab Kumar Gogoi has been recovered from Longvi village under Nampong  Police station.
 A border patrol team of the Assam Rifles had intercepted him as he was crossing over from Myanmar. Later , Gogoi was brought to the local police station at Jairampur for further enquiry and health check-up.
“There is no trace yet of Ram Kumar, the other employee abducted with this person we located,” Changlang SP Mihin Gambo told. However, after legal formalities, we will hand over Pranab Gogoi to his family, added the SP.
We are interrogating the released person. But he has been unable to say where his colleague is, as they were being kept in separate locations for a month, informed the SP.
When asked about the health condition of Gogoi, Officer In-charge Jairampur Police station, Umeshan C confirmed that the health condition of Gogoi is stable.
Members of the ULFA (I) had abducted the two Quippo employees on December 21, 2020 and had set a February 16 deadline for payment of ₹20 crore for their release as a ransom amount. Moreover , the Chief of ULFA(I) had also threatened the company  of taking the “ultimate step” against them if the Company and authority failed to meet their demands.
Gogoi (51), was engaged as a drilling superintendent at the Quippo Oil and Gas Infrastructure Limited near Innao, of Changlang district and Ram Kumar (35) was the radio operator.
