ITANAGAR, Aug 27: A three-day training programme on “Power and Functions of DDOs”, sponsored by Department of Personal and Training (DoPT), Government of India commenced at Administrative Training Institute (ATI), Naharlagun today.
Altogether 24 senior officers of District Administration of the rank of Circle Officer, Additional Deputy Commissioner are attending the programme.
In his address, Director ATI, Pate Marik said the objective of the training programme is to sensitize and acquaint the participating officials with new innovations and rules under financial management in the affairs of government.
He said that a lot of changes have taken place on the implementation of various Central Pay Commission recommendations and pointed out that drawing and disbursing officials (DDOs) who are managing the state exchequer must update their knowledge about the changes and financial rules.
He noted that maintaining financial propriety is one of the core issues for honest and transparent government in public service delivery.
Marik further urged the participating officials to take full advantage of the course and exchange ideas and knowledge with co-participants.
Assistant Director, ATI cum Course coordinator, Nani Khambo also spoke on the occasion.
