SEPPA, Apr 29: In an attempt to curb the sale of non-standard packaged commodities and goods the expiry dates of which have lapsed, a joint inspection was conducted on Wednesday here in the township by the concerned authorities and consumer rights activists. Assistant Controller, Legal Metrology & Consumer Affairs Tasso Gurro, Trade Development Officer Mekory Dodum and members of Consumer Rights Organization (CRO), East Kameng unit took part in the inspection drive. The team seized various non-standard items and three cases were booked under the Legal Metrology Act, 2009 for selling of non-standard packaged commodities and goods unfit for consumption due to expiry of dates.
All traders in the township were instructed to abide by the provisions of LM Act failing which stringent action will be initiated against them. DIPRO
