TAWANG, Apr 20: With Covid cases spiralling in the state uninterruptedly over the last few days, District Administrations have started drawing up plans to face the exigencies.
In Tawang district headquarters MLA Tawang Tsering Tashi today chaired a meeting with PRI leaders, representatives of NGOs, army and paramilitary forces and concerned department heads at the DC’s conference hall. Expressing gratitude to the DA for
its dedicated services during the first wave, the MLA appealed all to be extra careful about the second wave which is more infectious and stressed on increasing awareness activities among the district’s people regarding SOPs and vaccination. 
ZPC Leki Gombu requested the GREF authorities to strictly monitor the movement of their personnel and ensure adherence to all SOPs. DC Sang Phuntsok informed that as per revised government notification all people coming from outside shall have to compulsorily go through Rapid Antigen Tests at the points of entry. This time, charges for all services like COVID care, transportation etc. are to be paid by the persons availing them, he informed, adding that gatherings of more than 50 persons will be restricted. He further instructed the DDMO to activate all Incident Commanders and District Control Room.
DMO Dr Wangdi Lama shared the district’s current Covid status.
Tirap District Administration also convened a coordination meeting today to review the district’s Covid preparedness at the Kamlesh Joshi Conference Hall in Khonsa.
Chairing the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Taro Mize urged the HoDs not to avail any leave and instructed them to call back all officers/officials currently on leave to join duties at check gates and Covid Care Centres.  Leave may be considered only on exceptional grounds, the DC clarified.  
After a threadbare discussion it was decided that there will be two points of entry for the whole district: tri-junction (Khonsa, Assam, Deomali) and Dirok gate. All persons entering Tirap will have to undergo COVID screening tests comprising RAT @ Rs. 200 per test and RT-PCR/TrueNAt @ Rs. 500 per test. As per state government's order, BPL card holders, truckers/ attendants carrying essential items, elderly above 60 years and children below 10 years, state government contingency staff and CPMF/ military personnel will be exempted from the above charges. Movement through the above entry points will be  allowed only from 7 am to 6 pm.Among the other measures to be rolled out, it was decided that medical staff from the health centre across the district will be engaged on a rotational basis and the Deomali weekly market will remain closed until further order. However, Khonsa local market and weekly vegetable vendors on Saturdays will be allowed to carry business observing all SOPs.
COVID diet at the Covid Care Centres (CCCs) will be arranged through vendors and the polytechnic girls’ hostel in Khonsa will be transformed into a CCC. DIPRO
