TAWANG, Jun 14:The Tawang administration today held a meeting to discuss enhancement of tourism potential in the district which was largely participated by hoteliers, taxi union and tour operators of the district.

While reflecting on the increase in tourist inflow in the district, Deputy Commissioner Sang Phuntsok exhorted all the stakeholders to strive towards making the district one of the most sought after tourist destinations. Reiterating on the importance of customer service in the tourism sector, he said that sanctity of the region which has been known for its hospitality is to be maintained at all cost and requested everyone to refrain from indulging in any activity that is uncalled for.

While advising all to explore and introduce new tourists’ attractions, DC assured of full cooperation from the District Administration. He also directed that taxi fares to various destinations  be displayed at prominent places in the interest of tourists.

Superintendent of Police, MK Meena also opined that drivers, hoteliers, shopkeepers, tour operators are the face of the business and should work hand in hand to make the region tourist friendly and send across positive message about the place. The SP also stressed on commercial registration of vehicles used for tourism activity.

With regard to foreign tourists, DySP Tawang requested for maintaining area of operation and timely reporting of their arrival at FRROs office.
