ITANAGAR, Jun 16:Parliamentary Secretary (Home & Education) Pani Taram reviewed the law and order situation of the state with top police officials of the state.

The meeting discussed regarding law and order situation in Siang, NEEPCO issue, firing at Changlang wherein one civilian was killed among several others.

DGP, Sandeep Goel and IGP (Law & Order) Nobin Payeng briefed about all issues one by one and other issues pertaining to law and order. Few important cases like that of DSP Late Bomto Kamdak and Kurung Kumey district police related issues were deliberated upon.

Taram on behalf of citizens and from his side felicitated the capital police chief, Dr. A Koan for his team work in cracking the case of attack on Director of Audit & Pension at D Section, Naharlagun and arrest of all four members of the gang with arms. He provided a commendation certificate and also requested the DGP to felicitate all the team members who helped solve the case within very short time.

Further while talking to this scribe, Taram said that he has given direction to top police official to conduct vehicle checking continuously, book defaulters without consideration of his/her affiliation, in order to instill security among capital dwellers. He also directed the DGP to alert all ranks of Police in the state to remain alert and vigil in case of natural calamity and disaster due to torrential rain and onset of monsoon in different parts of the state.

‘Police are people friendly and working to maintain peace and tranquillity and I appeal the people to become willing partner of police in maintaining safety and security of the state and its people,’ Taram added.
