ITANAGAR, Aug 9:Minister for Power, Tamiyo Taga held a meeting in his office today to assess the damages caused at the 132kv substation at Daporijo. On the midnight of August 8, the panel board of the transformer was burnt following flashover of voltage.
The fire was doused off by the timely intervention of fire brigade and police. This lead to complete darkness of Daporijo and other central and eastern parts of the state as its supply from Ziro was shut down as a precautionary measure. However supply to other parts beyond Daporijo has been restored today by isolating Daporijo.
During the meeting it was decided to avail necessary fund for immediate restoration through disaster management fund. The Minister also directed the departmental officials to immediately go for floating of tender for AMC, whose bids are ready for quite some time.
Taga also pointed that some of the Extra High voltage substations at Aalo, Deomali are in vulnerable state and needs immediate maintenance through special funding.
SE TK Tara, SE and EE (Transmission) Sange Phuntso, has been deputed for assessment of the damages and prepare necessary reports for its immediate restoration while another team of technocrats has been deputed for finding the cause of the mishap.
The meeting was attended by GS Meena, Commissioner (Power) all the CEs of the department and SE (Transmission) and others.
