ITANAGAR, Jul 25: The Students United Movement of All Arunachal (SUMAA) asked the West Kameng district administration to come out with concrete evidence of charges like extortion, unlawful activities, disruption of peace and tranquility, etc. levelled against it.
In a press release issued here today, the student organisation said that no FIR has been lodged against SUMAA executive members at Bomdila and added the arrest of its leaders is a conspiracy hatched by the state government to crush the anti-refugee movement as well as to divert attention of the public from the ill-effects of its Tibetan policy.
SUMAA as of now has not declared any rally or given any bandh call at Bomdila but declaring Section 144 CrPC at Bomdila and arresting our executive members under Arunachal Pradesh Unlawful Activities Prevention Act 2014 by the district administration is questionable, the release said.
The SUMAA has further said that it does not accept the order made after video conferencing between the Deputy Commissioners Capital Complex and West Kameng and will legally challenge the DC’s order.
