ITANAGAR, Aug 29: The first periodic test for the students of Government schools of Capital Complex began simultaneously at all the schools today. Considering the performance of the students last year, a few measures have been adopted by the District Administration to improve the overall educational scenario and one such measure is the introduction of the centralised periodic tests, informed the Deputy Commissioner Itanagar Capital Complex Prince Dhawan.
A common periodic test will ensure a common question paper for the students in each class in every school, which will promote qualitative competition between all the students, the DC further said and added that the system will help identify the poor performing schools and extra care and attention would be given to such schools.
Explaining more about the system, the DC informed that questions have been set centrally by a board which has been kept confidential and the answer scripts too would be checked by swapping the teachers from various schools so as to rule out the possibility of any manipulation. He further informed that schedule for the periodic tests with syllabus has already been issued earlier to every school which will help in timely completion of syllabus.
