PASIGHAT, Aug 31: A memorial statue of Golgi Bote Talom Rukbo, the founder of Donyi-Polism, which is followed by people of indigenous faith andculture in Arunachal Pradesh and parts of northern Assam bordering Arunachal is now being constructed here at Central Donyi-Polo Yelam Kebang.
As per Ajem Tayeng, President, Central Donyi-Polo Yelam Kebang, Pasighat, the statue of Golgi Bote Talom Rukbo will be unveiled on October 2 which will be a center of attraction for the believers and followers of indigenous faith and culture.
“The idea behind erecting the statue is the fact that people belonging to different faith groups have adored late Rukbo so much that, they declared him as their Guru and therefore it has become very important to erect his statue to symbolize the integrity of all the faith groups of Arunachal Pradesh,” said Kaling Borang, advisor to the construction committee who also heads Adi Agom Kebang as its President.
Dolong Padung, Chairman of the statue construction committee who himself is a renowned singer winning the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar and State Gold medal, informed that the statue is being erected by the donations and contribution by all believers.
Tajom Tasung, President, Indigenous faith & Cultural Society of Arunachal Pradesh, said that more than 3000 believers of indigenous faith & culture will come and grace the ‘Lambona longe’ (Guru Diwas) on October 2 next and IFCSAP is closely coordinating with the CDPYK to make the statue unveiling day a remarkable one.
