Itanagar, Mar 13: The Department of Finance, Planning, and Investment, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU), Doimukh, to foster academic research and consultancy aimed at the socio-economic transformation of the state. Under this collaboration, RGU will conduct an evaluation study on seven of the Chief Minister’s Flagship Schemes, namely; Mukhya Mantri Nasha Mukti Yojana (MMNMY), Chief Minister Arogya Arunachal Yojana (CMAAY), Mukhya Mantri Rogi Kalyan Kosh (MMRKK), Chief Minister Health Emergency Life Protection Services (CM-HELPS), Chief Minister Yuva Kaushal Yojana (CMYKY), Chief Minister’s Social Security Scheme (CMSSS) and Jan Sunwai Programme/Sarkar Aap Ke Dwar/Seva Aap Ke Dwar, focusing on their implementation, impact and areas for improvement.
The MoU was ceremonially signed by R. K. Sharma, IAS, Secretary, Department of Planning & Investment, on behalf of the State Government and Dr. N. T. Rikam, Registrar, Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU), Doimukh on behalf of RGU.
The Secretary R. K. Sharma, informed that the state government has allocated the required amount to support the initiative, as per the budget estimate submitted to the Government of Arunachal Pradesh, and expressed hope that the collaboration is expected to provide key insights into governance, service delivery, and policy impact assessment.
The Registrar of RGU Dr. N.T. Rikam while speaking on the occasion emphasized on the importance of this research in shaping evidence-based policymaking and enhancing the effectiveness of state welfare programs. The Finance Officer of RGU Prof. Otem Padung said that, this MoU marks a significant step toward strengthening the research ecosystem in Arunachal Pradesh while ensuring that government schemes achieve their intended outcomes efficiently and transparently.
