ITANAGAR, Aug 17: The State unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today condoled the death of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and said in his demise the nation lost a great son whose over pouring concern was the welfare of the people. Top BJP leaders of the state, including vice-presidents, former ministers, MLAs and advisors to Chief Minister Pema Khandu were present at the condolence meeting.
A large number of party karyakartas, mahila morcha and yuva morcha activists too attended the condolence meeting held at the BJP’s state party headquarters here.
State BJP General Secretary Jarpum Gamlin briefed about the life of the former Prime Minister and said his demise was an irrevocable loss not only to the people of the country but also to the North East for the late Vajpayee had always had a special place for the region in his heart.
